Outstanding the architecture is very well thought out!  Yes I am using an SSD from Micron and 2GB of memory from them as well.

Here are the part numbers for the system I created 

128GB SSD - Crucial CT5944919 (3 year warranty)

2GB Memory - Crucial CT5733208 (lifetime warranty)

Computer - Intel DE3815TYKHE (3 year warranty)

In the Bios I only made a few changes

1.  Under the Boot Menu set the OS to Linux

2.  Under the Boot Priority set the eMMC to the first boot device, SSD / HD second and the LAN last 

3.  Save your settings and reboot

I have had similar success
