2.2. Feature Wish List

Hello everybody,

We are currently discussing potential features of 2.2. Maybe some of you are interested in contributing feature requests too. This would be the time and place. :)

To make it easier for us to understand, please don't just tell us the name of the feature, but also write a short description of what the feature should be capable of and what you'd like to use it for.

I would like to add the following:

1. Dhcp client properly working.
2. Fax over ip Sending (loading file on webpage AND/OR sending email.)
3. Multiple custom greetings.  (to allow different phones to have different times and different messages.)
4. Multiple audio message for nightswitch (to allow different phones to have different times and different messages)
5. Support to Directmedia setting  (so 2 phones on the internet can route the traffic directly between them instead of going through the pbx.)
6. A better working upgrading mechanism, where the settings keep working between versions and don't get messed up between versions.

I would like to add the following:

 1: Time based routing:
     Threat call according daytime: call phone or send to answering machine

 2: Black list, Gray list, White list with wildcard in phone number
     Blacklist hang up immediately or send call to a NUL device
     (Example: 00390xxxxxx hang up or ring forever on a non existing phone)
     Gray list treat with time based routing
     (Example: 00491234, my boss during daytime ring phone, nighttime answering machine)
     White list ring always selected phone or ring group
     (Example: 00494321, family member)

 3: call back if a predefined number is recognized
     (Example: if calling from my cell phone, do not answer, call me back, and provide me
     a dialing tone and bridge the call to whatever Number, or short dial I entered)

 4: iax configuration assistant
    (a way to easily connect two or more askozia's over an iax trunk)

nightswitch-message recording using a phone instead of a computer and the need of uploading a file to the PBX afterwards.

support/easy-setup for patton-inalp and/or mediatrix SIP<->ISDN gateways.

bandwith monitor still shows strange values IIRC.

I also would like to add this:

Ability to upload a audio file...and use it as a internal number.

Ex. i upload voice.wav to askozia...and associate it with the phone number 333.
Everytime i call 333 it plays the audio file and then when done hangs up.

It would be great to see the following features:

  • Autoconfiguration and phonebook for Aastra phones
  • Possibility to redirect a call to another number also instead of only to mailbox if not answered
  • +1 for fax sending
  • Webaccess for users to configure forwarding, answering machine etc. of their own phones
  • Storage for different night switch messages so if I want to change the message, I can just switch it instead of reuploading
  • Call detail records also as HTML/CSV instead of PDF only
  • Permit/deny network access for SSH
  • +1 for different night switches with different messages
  • Support for BLF feature (so the others see if I'm on the phone right now)

I would like to see support for ISDN Keypad Elements.

To control external Call Forwarding in the ISDN Providers Exchange ( important Feature on PTMP Connections ).

I like 2 Features:

- Call Agent
- Secure Calling (SIPS and SRTP)

Why Call Agent?
Because you need this feature if you have roaming work places. Just sit anywhere in the company, dial the login number, put in your number and PIN. Then your current phone has your number.

Why Secure Calling
Because I like to route calls over the Internet and not within VPN-Tunnels. Usually the delay and jitter is better in this case because of better working QoS.

Erstmal gratulation zu eurer jetzt schon tollen Anlage!

Folgende Funktionen wären für uns auch sehr interessant:

- CID Name Prefix for Ring(Call)groups
- Mehr Möglichkeiten und Vereinfachung der Personalisierung der einzelnen Leitungen. D.h. Eigene Wartemusik für Telefone oder Rufgruppen; Nightswitch für einzelne Telefone oder Rufgruppen; Individuelle Voicemailansagen für Telefone oder Rufgruppen etc.  
- CDR exportierbar in csv oder txt, damit man diese auswerten kann
- mehr Statistik und Reportfunktionen für Rufgruppen, Telefone, Trunks und Gesamte Anlage
- Aufnahmefunktion der Telefonanlage

New dahdi version 2.6 is out ,  why askozia still using 2.4.1.2 ?

I would like to see following options:

TFTP working again to manage my Cisco 7960/70 series phones.

Blacklist for unwanted and anonymous call whith a special message like " we dont like that you hide your phone number, show it or the line will be dropped"

Call recording on key combination

Probably a time controlled reboot option (have different sporadic problems which are solved by reboot, also a power outage did not correctly connect the pbx to the provider)

1 - PhoneBook Remote, so that it is possible to integrate CRM. Caller ID appears starting the collection of a number in a CRM.
2 - Send information to a CRM.
