2.1 - Test Images, Progress, Feedback, Updates
« on: August 19, 2010, 12:01:26 PM »
Hello everyone,

I'm starting this thread to gather a discussion of the progress being made on 2.1. To kick things off, here is the first developer snapshot: r1701
 - http://downloads.askozia.com/pbx/snapshots/r1701/

It contains these changes:

Testing reports, complaints, compliments, suggestions and questions all welcome here. If you have anything to say about 2.1, this is the place.

(On a side note: I will be on vacation from the 20th to the 30th of August so my participation here will be slowed. I'm definitely paying attention to you...but am sharing that attention with "La Semana Grande" festival in Bilbao, Spain so forgive any jitter and delay in my responses!)

Hello,

I'd like to test Version 2.1, but is there any way to install this image on COMpact 3000 VoIP? If yes, instructions please :D

And I've a few questions about the fax features in Version 2:
  • Analog Fax <--> AskoziaPBX <--> VoIP Provider with PSTN-Gateway (T.38 Support) <--> PSTN <--> Analog Fax: Does this work in both directions?
  • Converts Askozia faxes into T.38, if the provider supports it?

When will the final version be published approximately?

Thanks
Fuerni

I haven't prepared any snapshots for the COMpact 3000 VoIP yet. When I'm back in the office next week, I will get a tested snapshot up on the server.

Currently T.38 is not implemented. In Asterisk 1.6.2 (the base for Askozia 2.1) T.38 gateway is not yet supported. Once Askozia moves to Asterisk 1.8, T.38 will be added everywhere. Right now, without gatewaying, fax over SIP is only semi-reliable and predictable. That is not something I want to associate with the product. It should just always do the right thing and work.

The final version of 2.1 will be available in Q4 2010. I don't want to commit to something more specific than that because features need implementing, testing and only a mature build will be released.

Glad things are working for you, Yuo. You're welcome!

olafo57 : Do you have a Analog Phone account assigned to one of the ports on that card?

Askozia will be perfect if call monitoring (recording) is supported.

two questions regarding snapshot r1732 please.

- which hardware with analog ports does askozia support, I tried a USB card but without success

- regarding fax2mail I'm not able to set this up, please have a look at screenshot attached. Incomming ISDN calls are routed, but if I call the 50570389 Askozia said that this line is not assigned.

Are you speaking about extensions (FXS) or analog trunks (FXO)?
If a PCI card can be fitted in your platform I would suggest an Openvox A400P (well tested over time), also a Digium TDM410P should work.

I think none is supported, wich USB card manufacturer/model you tried?

Michael, the CallerID settings for Each Provider is really very cool and useful as my ISDN Provider needs other formating than my Voip provider.

It's working great for me, thank you !!

The only problem now i have is that my voip provider requires me to set the number like +41xxxxxx

However looks like the + isn't allowed, it get the following error:

The outgoing Caller ID specified for "2_vt" is invalid.

Can you use something like:

John Smith <+41123456789>

If so, I will simply add the + character as an allowed first character in that check
