Is this possible? i.e. will the configuration roll over to the new release okay? FYI I am running on an alix board.

No, upgrading from 1.0 to 2.0 is not supported. This will be documented (in big red letters!) once 2.0 final is released.

The configuration structure is not compatible and upgrading the firmware can leave the system unbootable because of a slightly different binary format.

I really wanted to make upgrading possible but the amount of changes and the effort involved was simply too much.
