Did you upgrade from 1.0 to 2.0 directly in the GUI? This is not supported and I need to write it in red letters somewhere on the website.

hallo and thanks for your answer.

-First time i have direct upgraded in GUI from 1.0 to 2.0

-And now i have from your FTP ( http://downloads.askozia.com/pbx/releases/ )
 this Image's  ( "askozia-pbx-embedded-x86-i486-uclibc-2.0.rc1.img" or "askozia-pbx-generic-pc-x86-i486-uclibc-2.0.rc1.img" )
with ( "physdiskwrite 0.5."2 ) direct to my "CF"( 128 MB ) installed

it does not working   Sad

My Hardware:
AMD Geode GX1-300 ( GENE-4312 Serie )

The IDE drivers are not available, Askozia did not find my CF card at boot.

 Huh

The upcoming RC2 has greatly expanded hardware support. Try this image:

It is the latest image to be released and closely resembles RC2.

...hallo Michael, du you speak german ?

Master Disc" ( CHS, Mode4, 128 MB )

Danach kommt folgendes:

GRUB  Loading  stage2..

Decompressing Linux..  Parsing ELF... done

Booting  the  kernel.

und  das wars, es passiert nichts mehr.  Cry

Die Image: askozia-pbx-generic-pc-x86-i486-uclibc-r1395.img , funktioniert aber es ist leider nicht
"embedded"  Version.

Hi,

I'm having the same issue that 'nagard' has pointed out; namely the boot process stalls at "Booting the kernel.".

I've read elsewhere on the intertubes that this could be a bios issue in ALIX1 boards, so I updated to the latest bios but no luck.

There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the hardware as I could run Askozia 1.x fine but 2.x is a problem.

I'm now lost as to where to go from here, if anyone could point me in a new direction that would be great.

My setup-
hardware: ALIX1 board, SanDisk 128MB CF, OpenVox A400P pci card
software: embedded Askozia 2.0.2 and 2.0.3 don't seem to work (haven't tried earlier builds)
installation: dd on OSX directly to CF card

Many Thanks for any help.

May be a stupid question but... sure you are using the right console for embedded?
Using the embedded image this is the exact time that output goes to serial port, disappearing from the vga.

Thank you Giovanni.v, that is exactly what it was.

For anyone else having this trouble using an ALIX board and running OSX on their desktop here is what I did.

  • 1/ Brought a USB-to-Serial cable (model UC-232A) and a null modem cable (not a straight through serial cable)
  • 2/ Installed USB drivers for the USB device
  • 3/ Plugged USB-to-Serial from the MAC into the null modem cable then plugged the null modem cable into the Askozia box
  • 4/ Powered on Askozia box
  • 5/ Followed the advice on http://www.tigoe.net/pcomp/resources/archives/avr/000749.shtml (ALIX boards run at a datarate of 38400)
  • 6/ Hit enter and boom I'm looking at the Askozia console screen
  • 7/ Configured the LAN IP and then hit up the IP address in the browser

If your using windows use hyperterminal and set "bits per second" to "38400" and "flow control" to "None" leave everything else as is. You need to hit enter to get the console screen up.

I hope this helps others.

Thanks again Giovanni.v
