This is my first message, I am trying to install askozia r1327 on a soekris net4801
After tweaking grub a bit to set the console to ttyS0,9600, I see the kernel is booting
but then the boot stops when trying to mount /offload.

The soekris boots off a CF but the kernel sees no /dev/{hd,sd}?
I suspect something is missing in the kernel configuration.
I will also try to checkout the source and see the kernel config but
I thought someone might know the answer offhand.

Plugging a USB key creates a /dev/sda as expected so I will try to
format one with ext2 and put offload there to progress.

One last thing, to ease debugging, it would be nice to put a line
exec /bin/sh
before the 'exit 1' in /etc/rc.mountoffload.
These would allow people to drop to a shell and report issues more easily
without having to manually change the initramfs.

Thanks,

Sorry you're having trouble (and thanks for the patch!).

The next snapshot will have a new image called "embedded" which will be the Generic PC image with serial console (except set to 38400...same as the Alix boards). If that one still does not find your hardware, let me know so I can add the appropriate kernel drivers.
