Hi,

I'm trying to do some redirecting of incoming calls to other external numbers but can't seem to get it to work.

When I use search I find several posts here with somewhat similar questions but they are NOT answered... so they are therefore not to any help.

I'm trying to setup an application that I can use to sometimes redirect an incoming call to a cell phone (or any other external number).

I found a reference to RTFM in one post, and did try to do that, check the Dial() command reference in the /popup_dialplan_element_library.php but I see no clear answer to this.

I looked in the logs and found that outgoing calls from local phones yields entries such as
 Dial( SIP/12345@SIP-PROVIDER-nn||To)

where 12345 is the number being dialed and nn is a large numerical random looking value.

I then tied to copy that command into an application and and dial that extension from local phone and it appears to work. The external number I enter in the parenthesis is being dialed.

However when I chose this application as incoming extension under the provider in question nothing happens if I dial in from the outside.

I had something looking like:

1,Answer()
2,Dial(SIP/12345@SIP-PROVIDER-nn||To)
3,Hangup()

but doesn't work.

I guess I'm missing some interconnecting command perhaps?

Everything is reasonably correctly set up since normal calls are ringing my SIP phone just fine and I'm also phoning out with no problems.

So, what am I missing? How should such an application look like, that forwards an incoming call to an external phone number, can someone post their application structure here perhaps? And also, yet again, is there somewhere a short how-to with such easy examples as this one?

TIA,

Ok, I've done some additional testing.

I added an external phone with this number I want to forward to and calling that extension from the inside seems to work.

I then edited my application and instead of being busy (which it was too earlier) it now did call the external phone. However when answering it I heard no sound either way through the phones.

Is this somehow related to number of lines I have from my SIPprovider or something else?

How-to somewhere?

TIA,

You don't need to reivent the weel... go to Accounts->Phones in the askozia webgui then setup a new external extension. This works like a virtual internal number to map an external one.
After done that you can assign the virtual extension to incoming calls or a ring group.

I did leave a new thread for this, but it's not working right now. I tried to setup an external extension and I loose the ability to point out providers to the extension. The boxes dissappear on the provider screen.
