Hi,

I've been using Askozia for many months now and updated to 14.3 within the last day or two.  Tonight, Gizmo5 seems to be having some sort of trouble, as I can not connect to proxy01.sipphone.com at the moment, but in looking at my active connections, I saw many DNS queries coming from my Askozia machine as it was attempting to reconnect to sipphone.com.

It appears to perform DNS lookups for:
SIP-PROVIDER
SIP-PROVIDER.local
_sip._udp.proxy01.sipphone.com
_sip._udp.proxy01.sipphone.com.local

Then, it finally performs a lookup against proxy01.sipphone.com.

Is there a way to disable these other lookups?

I'm wondering why the SIP-PROVIDER and SIP-PROVIDER.local lookups even exist, since you can specifically add numerous providers directly to Askozia.  (I only have two providers, CallWithUs.com and SipPhone.com)

Thanks,
Paul

_sip._udp.proxy01.sipphone.com
_sip._udp.proxy01.sipphone.com.local

Those queries are Bonjour mDNS queries which is odd as that module is not even built into AskoziaPBX

SIP-PROVIDER
SIP-PROVIDER.local

I'm not sure why Asterisk would be querying against these names. They are not even parsable as domain names! Has anyone else seen this odd DNS behavior?

I am running a test lashup (4 phones, 3 AskoziaPBX, 1 Asterisk, 2 softphones, 1 iax softphone) Basically having fun trying to make it all work.

Watching Wireshark packets going between an AskoziaPBX (192.168.49.212) and Asterisk (192.168.48.42), I see an odd DNS failure:

src                     dst                    prot       Info
192.168.49.212  192.168.48.42   DNS  Standard query AA 02-08760000.chidig.com
192.168.49.41    192.168.49.212 DNS  Standard query response, No such name

I am calling from phone 02 on an AskoziaPBX - calling a phone on the Asterisk box.
The 192.168.49.41 is the address of the DNS server.

As far as I know, I have DNS turned off on all devices - I have basically 2 subnets - most devices are on just the 192.168.49.0 subnet.

I guess it doesn´t matter that there is a failure, but the name it is trying to look up will never succeed.
