Hi all,

And welcome to Askozia PBX

When you want to install askozia pbx to an Alix board it takes some steps.
I would like to offer this step by step guide on how I made the askozia pbx system work for Alix boards.

Step 1

Download the latest Askozia PBX build from www.askozia.com/pbx.
This file is called pbx-alix23x-rxxx.img

Step 2

When you have downloaded the image file. You need to transfer it to a CF card. I used a 32MB version. But you can use any type above as well. The minimum is 16Mb but you then have no extra space for additional applications. If you don't install extra applications you don't need more space.
To transfer the image file I used physdiskwrite.exe
Copy the .img file into the exact same directory as where the physdiskwrite.exe file is.
Go with your browser to this directory.
Now insert a CF reader in the pc and insert your CF disk in the CF reader.
With your mouse you click on the .img file and drag the icon on the physdiskwrite.exe file
This should open a screen to let you select which drive you want to overwrite.

Disk 0 is most of the time your windows disk.
Disk 1 (see the C/H/S Cilinders/heads/sector) should probably be the one to select.
It will prompt you if you are okay to erase all data and install the .img file on the CF.

Step 3

Once this is done remove the CF card from the CF reader. Put it in the Alix board.
Connect a Null-modem cable to the alix board and to the pc. Now open Hyper-terminal. If you don't have it on your Pc try google to find putty.

The settings are    COM1    34800 Bps  8-n-1 no hardware acceleration.
Make sure the cable is connected and hyper-terminal is ready.
No plug in the power supply for the alix board.

Step 4

You see the askozia software boot up. Wait until everything has been don. You see a menu with 7 choices.

Pick  change lan settings.
Fill in the ip address for your askozia pbx.
Pick net-mask setup gateway ip and setup dns ip
If asked if you want to revert http to the new address type yes and press enter.

You can now go to your computer network and access the askozia pbx from any pc/mac/linux/bsd/whatever
just go to a browser and type in the correct ip address.

Default logon name and password is admin and askozia.

If you don't have the serial null-modem cable you can do the following step.

Go to your pc. And change the network address for your local LAN adapter to 192.168.2.14
now go to the default website 192.168.2.1 and log in withe admin and askozia.
On the interfaces page choose network
On the lan setting type in the new IP address.
Change your LAN ip again to what it was and you can now access your askozia pbx with the new IP

This is how simple it is to install askozia pbx on alix boards.

Best regards,

Osa2

I know this thread has been dead for long but I spent about 2 hours to understand why my first installation of Askozia on an Alix was not working (without COM access, this thing is not easy with the wrong informations). This thread is the one that came first when googling so it might help someone.

This HOWTO (the top message) is not good for the latest stable release of Askozia  (1.0.3).

Here are the correct settings :

The default IP is not 192.168.2.1 but 192.168.1.2
I read somewhere DHCP was Turned on on this version (but I didn't check) => If it is the case, be sure to not have have arround disturbing the next step.

Next step is connecting HTTPS and not HTTP which is not working.

On my 2D2, I had to use the LAN1 port to access it.

I hope that helps.
