Hi everybody,

within the next days we are going to release the first additional packages for Askozia 2.1:  GSM for Generic PC.
New features are:

- Intelligent Call Back*
- Automatic Status Text Messages (SMS, automatically sent to the admin in case of critical system status)
- SMS-to-Email
- ... and of course Phone Calls via the GSM network

Everybody who is already using 2.1 can update their image for €39/$50 (or €88/$120 for 2.1+GSM). For the start the GSM package supports the GSM interface cards from OpenVox. In case you'd like to use GSM cards of other manufacturers, we'd love to hear about it.

2.1.4 is scheduled for the end of this month. Besides a number of changes that increase the usability of the web interface, it will include auto provisioning for Linksys, Sipura, Tiptel, Yealink and Polycom phones. The dev team is also working on a few goodies. I'll tell you about these once the time is right.  Grin

The IVR package will come in winter 2011/2012. We know that a lot of people are waiting for this. However, we've decided to implement a complete new web interface which will make it the most easy-to-use IVR editor on the market. I am sure that's worth waiting for ...

Have a good week,
Sebastian

*Intelligent Call Back: Whenever a call is coming in via this GSM provider, Askozia checks which extension has called this number the last time. In case the number is recognized, the call is routed to this extension. If the number is unknown, it is routed to the default extension of this provider.

Hi, this GSM gateway uses SIP. Therefore you can just configure it like any SIP Provider within the web interface and it will work. You don't need the GSM package for this.  Smiley

I was thinking if you could support SMS on SIP GSM gateway , i think the modem logic is the same in internal and external gsm gateway , you have just to pass AT modem commands to send sms .

...that increase the usability of the web interface,

I hope it means that I can use it with Phones and Tablets again, the non Ajax Navigation Menu was better for that.

Oh, we would really like to see auto provisioning for Aastra phones! That would be great. (unfortunately, we missed the voting...)

This is weird, I read on your webshop,http://sites.fastspring.com/askozia/product/embeddedfirmware21series, that all updates in series 2.1 are free? Or was it a typo and are you offering a discounted upgrade from 2.0?

Nope. Smiley 2.1 series means that 2.1.1, 2.1.2 ... 2.1.x are free, when you have purchased a 2.1 firmware image.
Once 2.2 is released, upgrading from 2.1 to 2.2 is possible at a reduced rate.

Agreed, but in your original post you don't speak of 2.2.
You speak of additional packages and of update 2.1.4.
It's a bit confusing  Huh and I would suggest a license and pricing page on your website to better explain this in general.
To my understanding:
-updates within a major release are free (if I own 2.x I will get all 2.x.y free)
-additional packages (IVR, GSM,...) are seen as separate products of better "plugins" you buy as an option.
-if you own 2.x you can upgrade to 2.y(the next major release) at a reduced rate.

Hello serialchiller,

I asked beginning of October for prices, too.

http://forums.askozia.com/index.php/topic,1879.0.html

In my opinion a official price list is needed, so everybody has an overview about official releases and options/add-ons.

Best regards, Stefan

I know we are a little bit late. However, we are doing the final tests this week and we've decided to include a night switch for after hours and holidays. I hope that keeps the excitement up until the release.  Grin
