Hi, this message occurs if a USB storage wasn't mounted/unmounted properly. Please unmount your storage, restart your system and mount it again. The message should be gone then One more thing: Please differentiate between warnings and errors. This is just a warning message. Nothing really bad happens here.

Tried to umonut/remount the usb storage , but every time the system reboot it will place it in RO mode . /dev/sdb1 on /storage/usbdisk1 type vfat (ro,noatime,fmask=0022,dmask=0000,allow_utime=0022,codepage=cp437,iocharset=iso8859-1) /dev/sdc1 on /storage/usbdisk2 type vfat (ro,noatime,fmask=0022,dmask=0000,allow_utime=0022,codepage=cp437,iocharset=iso8859-1)
dmesg shows FAT: Filesystem panic (dev sdb1) invalid access to FAT (entry 0x101005d8) FAT: Filesystem panic (dev sdb1) invalid access to FAT (entry 0x101005d8) FAT: Filesystem panic (dev sdc1) clusters badly computed (2020 != 2019) File system has been set read-only
fsck.vfat does not exist , what can i do remotely to solve the problem ?

Sebastian,
Still need fsck.vfat for fixing the error .
Driver 'sd' needs updating - please use bus_type methods sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] 1015056 512-byte hardware sectors: (519 MB/495 MiB) sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Write Protect is off sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Mode Sense: 00 3a 00 00 sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Write cache: disabled, read cache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA sda:<6>ohci_hcd 0000:00:0f.4: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 2 sda1 sda2 sda3 sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Attached SCSI disk sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] 15556608 512-byte hardware sectors: (7.96 GB/7.41 GiB) sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Write Protect is off sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Mode Sense: 23 00 00 00 sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through sdb: sdb1 sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Attached SCSI removable disk sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Unhandled sense code sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Result: hostbyte=0x00 driverbyte=0x08 sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Sense Key : 0x3 [current] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] ASC=0x11 ASCQ=0x0 end_request: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 30351 sd 3:0:0:0: [sdc] 15556608 512-byte hardware sectors: (7.96 GB/7.41 GiB) sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Unhandled sense code sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Result: hostbyte=0x00 driverbyte=0x08 sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Sense Key : 0x3 [current] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] ASC=0x11 ASCQ=0x0 end_request: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 30352 sd 3:0:0:0: [sdc] Write Protect is off sd 3:0:0:0: [sdc] Mode Sense: 03 41 00 00 sd 3:0:0:0: [sdc] Assuming drive cache: write through sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Unhandled sense code sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Result: hostbyte=0x00 driverbyte=0x08 sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Sense Key : 0x3 [current] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] ASC=0x11 ASCQ=0x0 end_request: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 30353 sd 3:0:0:0: [sdc] Assuming drive cache: write through sdc:<6>sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Unhandled sense code sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Result: hostbyte=0x00 driverbyte=0x08 sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Sense Key : 0x3 [current] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] ASC=0x11 ASCQ=0x0 end_request: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 30356 sdc1 sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Unhandled sense code sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Result: hostbyte=0x00 driverbyte=0x08 sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Sense Key : 0x3 [current] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] ASC=0x11 ASCQ=0x0 end_request: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 30357 sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Unhandled sense code sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Result: hostbyte=0x00 driverbyte=0x08 sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Sense Key : 0x3 [current] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] ASC=0x11 ASCQ=0x0 end_request: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 30358 sd 3:0:0:0: [sdc] Attached SCSI removable disk

I think there is something wrong with the external storage . On three 2.1.3 system all have the same kind of error . FAT: Filesystem panic (dev sdb1) clusters badly computed (24655 != 24654) File system has been set read-only The file system on the storage at some point gets corrupted . Wich is the maximum supported size for the external usb storage , 1gb , 2gb , 4gb , 8gb or ?

Hi Sebastian
Still having problem with usb storage on two systems with 2.1.5 on deciso .
FAT: Filesystem panic (dev sdb1) clusters badly computed (61599 != 61598) /dev/sdb1 on /storage/usbdisk1 type vfat (ro,noatime,fmask=0022,dmask=0000,allow_utime=0022,codepage=cp437,iocharset=iso8859-1)
FAT: Filesystem panic (dev sdb1) fat_get_cluster: invalid cluster chain (i_pos 0) FAT: Filesystem panic (dev sdc1) fat_get_cluster: invalid cluster chain (i_pos 0) /dev/sdc1 on /storage/usbdisk2 type vfat (ro,noatime,fmask=0022,dmask=0000,allow_utime=0022,codepage=cp437,iocharset=iso8859-1) /dev/sdb1 on /storage/usbdisk1 type vfat (ro,noatime,fmask=0022,dmask=0000,allow_utime=0022,codepage=cp437,iocharset=iso8859-1)
The file system on the storage at some point gets corrupted .
Some question again ... - Wich is the maximum supported size for the external usb storage , 1gb , 2gb , 4gb , 8gb or ? - can i use two usb storage at the same time ? - need fsck.vfat for fixing the error ?
