I am experiencing problems with voicemail. It does not work.
Have done the following things:

I have chosen how many seconds to wait before it goes to voicemail.
enabled voicemail.
enabled storage for voicemail
configured e-mail notifications

This happens when I try to call the phone that has voicemail enabled:
It rings. But instead of going to voicemail it hangs up.

Dialing 000086 Voice Mail system works. I also can log in with my PIN.

Is there anything I have forgotten to configure? Or is this a bug?

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

HI rabtux

I had the same issue, after upgrading to 2.1 Voicemail didn't work anymore.
Then I have activated  "Activate custom Voicemail greeting   " in Services - Media - Voicemail Greetings, and then Voicemail started workin again.
But I still have a problem when I set the ringtimer in the callgroup higher then 25s. see: http://forums.askozia.com/index.php/topic,1688.0.html

I have set the ringtimer on the phone to 40sec. and on the callgroup 25sec.
That's the only config working for me.

I also thought that 2.1 has individual greetings for each user.

Andy, how to activate this feature?

Thank you, Gil

Hi Gil

It's not implemented yet, I think.
I just expected this feature, because I opened a post in the german forum and got the answer "it's planned for 2.1".
But now I couldn't find it.

Hi rabtux,

Great, but I'm not sure if this a bug or config issue.

I can

It has. Smiley
The configuration can be done via the voicemail system (000086).
BUT: Personal voicemail greetings are only played back to the caller when no global voicemail greeting is defined.
You find more information on that in the handbook on page 33.

I think there is a bug. I was not able to get separate voicemail messages to work....even if i registered the message in the 000086 application....i get this message:

Jun 26 17:18:26 asterisk[1475]: WARNING[2844]: app_dial.c:2041 in dial_exec_full: Unable to create channel of type 'SIP' (cause 20 - Unknown)

I tried to record the messages both from a analog dahdi phone and from a softphone.

Uh....and i got the $$$ version....

I just checked it and it really is bug.
Please see https://wush.net/trac/askozia/ticket/224

Will be fixed in 2.1.1. Thanks to all of you for reporting.  Smiley

Dear Sebastian,

I've tested the voicemail;

Filled in a PIN number (eq. 1234 ) at 'Account - Phones'
Called to phone with active VM application
Voicemail was recorded => OK
The voicemail status lamp on the phone => OK
I enterred the call 000086
The system asked for the PIN
I bring in 1234
The call stops ... and no message listen at all ..

Weird .. I can not find what is wrong ...

When I go via 'ssh shell' to the storage I can see the messages stay on the storage disk (USB-disk)

All,

I made one step -> Go to 'Services - Media - Voice Prompts'  add the voiceprompts 'ulaw' and 'wav'.
Now I can make a choice in the menu ... but no result of the received message !

The next step is that I see in the log the errors:

WARNING[5000]: file.c:950 in ast_streamfile: Unable to open digits/nl-om (format 0x4 (ulaw)): No such file or directory
WARNING[5000]: say.c:426 in wait_file: Unable to play message digits/nl-om

I think this means that the voicemail can not listen in the dutch language !

I will change the language to English ...

THAT is the ( temp !! ) solution (I hope)!

The voicemail box can only be used in the english messages.
The mix in dutch and english is not work !
