Hi,
CDRs always requires external storage. Additionally, you need to activate to store the logs on the device (in the storage menu). Then reboot your system. Afterwards please check if your system time is correct.
The next thing you need are some external phone calls of which the system can generate the CDRs. Now it should work.
@Jstrebel: Good point in saving the last date. We will integrate that in 2.1.1.
